Gibson County Records Contacts

This is a privately operated reference site, not a Gibson County office or government service. We cannot confirm whether someone is in custody, obtain or certify a booking record, release a person, post bond, arrange a visit, or change an official file. Contact the government office responsible for the record or service.

Sheriff, Jail, and Records Contacts

Call jail administration to verify present local custody. The online system is labeled Recent Booking Records and should not automatically be treated as a current-custody-only roster. A recent entry may remain after release, while a missing result can reflect intake delay, transfer, spelling, confidential treatment, or no admission to Gibson County Jail.

Requesting a Booking Record

Use the sheriff's official Forms and Permits page to reach the Request for Public Records PDF. The form permits inspection or copying and cites Indiana's Access to Public Records Act. Describe the existing record with a full name, approximate booking date, and booking number when known. Ask specifically for the booking or intake photograph when needed.

The form warns that copying charges may apply but states no exact fee. Ask for an estimate and electronic delivery before ordering. Confirm the delivery method before sending personal details. The sheriff holds jail-intake materials; city police hold their incident reports; the court holds its case file.

Different questions belong with different custodians:

City Police Report Routing

A city police report remains with that agency even if the person later enters the county jail. Princeton Police is at 812-385-3437 and provides an official report-request email. Fort Branch Police is at 812-753-3097; Town Hall at 812-753-3824 is only a routing fallback, not a confirmed police records unit. Oakland City Police is at 812-749-3535 and officergaines@indiana-ocpd.com. No verified city police arrest blotter was found.

Ask where to send a reasonably particular request and whether a charge applies. Statutory response periods govern acknowledgement, not guaranteed completion. One office cannot be assumed to hold another custodian's record.
